The Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Property Risk Advisor to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong knowledge of property law, legal compliance and risk management who enjoys working collaboratively to support colleagues and promote best practice.

Working closely with our Property and Business Services teams, you will play a key role in identifying legal, regulatory and procedural risks, helping to ensure the firm continues to deliver the highest standards of client service and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing property and business services transactions through the firm’s risk review process, identifying legal and regulatory risks.
• Providing clear, practical guidance to colleagues on risk and compliance matters, recommending appropriate solutions where required.
• Monitoring trends and reporting risk or compliance issues to Heads of Department.
• Supporting the development of departmental policies and procedures to reduce risk and improve compliance.
• Identifying training needs and assisting with the delivery of in-house risk and compliance training.
• Working closely with the Compliance Team to ensure adherence to SRA, Lexcel and CQS requirements.
• Liaising with Heads of Department and the Finance Partner where financial compliance or Solicitors Accounts Rules issues arise.
• Managing risk reviews within agreed timescales and supporting colleagues across our office network as required.

Skills and Knowledge

The successful candidate will have experience within a legal environment with a background in property law, compliance or risk management.

You will have:

• A sound understanding of property transactions and the associated legal and regulatory risks.
• Knowledge of the SRA Standards and Regulations, Solicitors Accounts Rules, Lexcel and CQS requirements.
• Strong communication skills, with confidence in providing constructive feedback and guidance to colleagues.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
• The ability to work independently while building positive working relationships across multiple teams.

Some travel between our offices may be required as part of the role.
