Emma Northover is a Partner in the Contentious Probate Team of the Private Client Department. She joined the firm in 2021 as part of a merger with Beviss & Beckingsale solicitors, whom she had worked for since 2009. She is primarily based in the Honiton office.

Emma specialises in a range of civil litigation matters and has particular expertise in Inheritance Disputes.  She helps her clients with a full range of issues in relation to contested probate and contested trust matters, and she understands the needs of her clients at what is an already difficult time in their lives.

Emma also advises in relation to property disputes including property ownership issues, contract disputes and misrepresentation disputes. Additionally, she assists with contested landlord and tenant matters both in the commercial and residential sectors.

Her experience in dealing with inheritance dispute law and property dispute work means that she can assist with professional negligence claims, particularly when these become apparent as the initial issues are investigated in the inheritance or property dispute context.

She obtained her Law degree (2:1) from Cardiff University in 2008 and completed her LPC in Cardiff in 2009. Emma qualified as a Solicitor in 2011 and is a Registered member of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS).

Having grown up in Somerset, Emma now lives in Devon with her family. Outside of work she enjoys exploring the outdoors whether at home in the West Country or abroad.
