As a South West law firm, we are proud to back the prestigious South West Chef of the Year competition. We will be sponsoring the award for Best Showcase of Regional Ingredients in this significant annual event, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.

The South West Chef of the Year is a key event in the culinary calendar and is a true celebration of all sectors of the thriving South West food, drink and hospitality industries.

Laura Clarke, head of Food and Drink at WBW Solicitors said: “We are proud to be backing this prestigious event. As a firm we pride ourselves in offering a high-quality local service, particularly to the food and drink industry, guiding them through the legal process and supporting them throughout their journey.”

“So it is fitting we are getting behind this awards category which celebrates the fantastic ingredients the South West has to offer.”

The winner will be announced at the awards presentation dinner on the evening of Wednesday 24th October.

Last year’s winner of the Best Showcase of Regional Ingredients was Andrew Callaghan, who prepared the following menu:

Main: Pan-fried Sea Bass, apple cider beurre blanc with black garlic, Dauphinoise potatoes, beetroot purée, star anise carrots
Dessert: Dorset Puff Autumn tart with sugar glaze and Pomona infused clotted cream.

We would like to congratulate our very own Lucinda Ellicott for making it through to the final round of the Home Cook category – good luck Lucinda, we are rooting for you.
