West Country Tool Company Limited (WCT), established in the 1970’s with their head office in Newton Abbot has been acquired by Rubix Group.

WCT is a supplier of cutting tools and industrial products, and is a distributor and technology partner for a host of global manufacturers within the industry.

Rubix Group is a multi-specialist supplier of products and services for industrial maintenance, repair, and overhaul. WCT will join its Cutting and Machining division.

As a result of the deal, the geographical footprint and offering of the Devon business is expected to grow rapidly.

“We are incredibly proud of the experience and reputation we have built up over the past 47 years,” said WCT managing director Tim Lloyd. “We will continue to operate with our existing branding from our site in Newton Abbot, but now as a Rubix company’.

“Our team will remain in place, but Peter Jevons will take this opportunity to step down as chairman to enjoy a well-earned retirement. The business has been built on his passion for which we want to take this opportunity to thank him and wish him every success in the future.

“It’s yet another step towards our aim to provide you with everything your business requires.”
