Here at WBW, we value every one of our team members. Each member of staff has their own stories, motivations and reasons why they enjoy working for WBW
Today we talk to Emma Davey, a Partner in our Launceston office.
What is your role at WBW and what area of law do you specialise in?
I am a Partner at WBW Solicitors in the Private Client Department.
What was your first full-time job?
My first full-time job was as a Trainee Legal Executive.
What made you decide to practice private client law?
After a week’s work experience placement at Peter, Peter & Sons, I was offered an opportunity to work for them as their part time office junior (after school and during the school holidays).
After I finished my GCSEs and A Levels, I was then offered the opportunity of training as a Legal Executive. This was an opportunity I couldn’t turn down and I started my training in the Conveyancing Department.
After several years I realised that the area I wished to specialise in was Private Client.
What do you like the most about the town you work in?
It is a very close community with beautiful surroundings. I feel very lucky to live and work in Cornwall.
What has been the best moment in your career?
Becoming a Partner of WBW earlier this year.
What are your top tips for clients?
Investing in a professionally drafted Will can save your estate thousands after you pass away.
What has been the most challenging part of your career?
Dealing with delays after the pandemic.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
My favourite holiday destination is Costa Rica – I think I could live there.
Who has been an inspiration for you?
My parents who have always taught me the value of hard work.
An interesting fact about me is…
I am trying to visit 50 countries before I am 40! Wish me luck.
