Police station attendances

The cost of legal representation at the police station is generally met through government funding by criminal defence service and therefore you do not have to worry about costs of our advice and representation at the police station.

Magistrates Courts

Every client is encouraged to apply for a legal aid representation order to cover that person's own costs of legal representation in the magistrates court. It is means tested but no one should presume that he/she is not entitled to legal aid and an application for legal aid should be made in every case. We assist all clients in completing these forms.

Crown Court

Crown court representation is funded principally in exactly the same way as magistrates court representation and is means tested. It is a little more complex than legal aid funding in the magistrates court but we are always happy to explain how this funding works and again everyone is encouraged to apply for legal aid to cover the cost of crown court legal representation and assistance is given in the completion of the necessary forms.

Private funding

Where legal aid funding is not available we aim to agree a fixed fee for dealing with each individual case. If you do not fall within legal aid limits we will explain in detail how our charges operate but, in general terms, we will agree a fixed fee depending upon the location of the court in which a client is to appear and the complexity of the case.

Telephone inquiries

We are always happy to answer general inquiries by telephone but we do not give written advice by the email system. If you require detailed advice in connection with traffic offences, which, in general, is outside the scope of legal aid cover, we charge a flat fee of £50 plus VAT for that advice call.
