Many concerns have been expressed in respect of bed blocking; so much so that Social Services are now required to reimburse money to the NHS if an individual cannot be discharged into a suitable care package.
With further cuts in Local Authority spending forecast at the rate of 26% over the next few years, it is crucial that when those in hospital are discharged back into the community, there are adequate discharge arrangements in place.
