When the matter relates to residential accommodation, the Local Authority has a duty to charge an individual for these services. The same is not so when the situation relates to non residential accommodation then there is only a discretion to charge.
We can assist you with your financial assessment for residential care homes and advise you as to what assets can be disregarded and for how long.
In connection with non residential services, we can assist you in establishing whether the charge levied by the Local Authority is a reasonable one and help you obtain reduced rates, if appropriate.
We will also look at your Local Authority's charging policy and determine reasonableness. See also Care Fees Planning.
