Generally speaking, if an individual has in excess of £23,250 (or the amount as determined from time to time) and they require residential care home care, they will be classed as self funding and therefore have to meet the cost of their care from their own resources.
WBW's Chartered Financial Planner, Dave Robinson, holds the appropriate CF8 qualification in order to advise in this area and help assist you or your relatives in connection with planning for long term care and to protect your assets as far as possible. Additionally, WBW Solicitors and WBW Chartered Financial Planners are able to assist with equity release and other lifetime mortgage vehicles in order to assist with funding of care.
Additionally, we will assist you as to the merits and the suitability of placing a Charge on your property and deferred payment as well as NHS Continuing Healthcare Funding to cater for your care fees planning needs.
