Trusts

WBW experienced team of Trust practitioners are able to provide advice in a personal and pro-active manner.

We are members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and Solicitors for the Elderly and have a wealth of experience in all matters relating to Trusts.

A trust/settlement is a means of holding money for an individual(s) without giving them immediate access to the monies.

Often a trust will be created to allow a gift to be made at a time when the beneficiary is too young or immature to hold the monies. They are used to protect the beneficiary from themselves or from third parties and they can effectively be used to dispose of property by the donor for tax saving purposes without giving an immediate right to a beneficiary.

There are many different types of Trusts such as:

  • Discretionary
  • Interest in possession
  • Bare
  • Mixed and Accumulation and Maintenance
  • Settlor-Interested
  • Parental trusts for children
  • Vulnerable people
  • Non-resident

Should you wish to consider creating a trust/settlement we are very happy to speak to you to advise and discuss the tax implications in greater detail.
