The property team at WBW Solicitors has been awarded the Chartermark of the Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), the highly prized quality standard for residential conveyancing practices.

The rigorous accreditation scheme is operated by the Law Society which represents solicitors in England and Wales. It has been designed to enhance the reputation of conveyancing solicitors, offer reassurance about integrity and practice standards, deter fraud and provide a more effective service for clients.

Crucially, in a competitive market, the CQS scheme has the support of the Council of Mortgage Lenders, the Land Registry, the Building Societies Association, the Legal Ombudsman and the Association of British Insurers.

Sarah Witheridge, WBW Solicitors partner and head of the property department said, ‘We are delighted to have secured CQS status. It is confirmation of the high standard of our work and a guarantee to future homebuyers that that they can be sure of our commitment to meeting their requirements at what is often a stressful time for many people. Being awarded the Chartermark involved a detailed and lengthy check-up by the Law Society, including a thorough review of our financial strength, our partners, our staff, our training and internal procedures, our claims and complaints record and our levels of customer satisfaction. It’s a demanding process that took some months and a lot of work. We have to undertake further training and more checks, and adhere to a stringent protocol to make sure that our work keeps to very strict specifications. Above all, I’d like to thank our property team, which has worked really hard to ensure that we achieved the award.’
