Employment issues are the focus of free forum event at WBW solicitors in Newton Abbot early April.

The breakfast event will give Teignbridge business leaders the chance to discuss staffing issues with specialists in the area through role plays and a question and answer session.

The event follows on from a successful event at the Exeter office on Thursday 8th March and involved role plays, a question and answer session and useful HR pointers, along with breakfast.

Employment law specialists, Kerry Curd and Kim Knox, hosted the event. Associate solicitor Kerry said: "Employment law can be a very difficult area so these forums are aimed at trying to look at common issues and how best to address them."

Patrick Morris, from Profiling People, gave an introductory talk on how to use profiling tools to help in employment issues, this was followed by the role plays exploring typical scenarios in the workplace.

Tracey Tyerman, HR manager from Thomas Westcott Chartered Accountants and Tax Advisers said: "It is refreshing to attend a forum which is both relaxed and informative. Bringing a small team of HR professionals together, from various backgrounds, round a table with employment lawyers is an ideal way of allowing open discussion on hot topics and is more useful to me than being lectured to in an environment where it is difficult to ask questions."

"I enjoyed being able to bounce ideas around in a relaxed and confidential atmosphere and also the input and advice from the WBW employment team is very valuable. The WBW team have developed a very useful forum which I am sure will benefit employers, business owners and HR professionals of all levels. I look forward to attending the next event.”

The next employment forum being held at the firm's Newton Abbot premises on Queen St on Thursday, April 5 at 8.45am

The free forums are open to limited numbers so please call 01626 202404 to secure your place for the next event.
