According to insurers Sun Life, the average cost of dying (such as cremation etc. costs) has risen to more than £7,200 - an increase of more than 60 per cent in the last seven years.

The popular 'burial expenses policies' are still relatively expensive and persons concerned about their ability to meet these costs should investigate conventional life assurance, which may offer better value.
