Revised Codes of Practice for Sponsored Skilled WorkersPrintPdfClose »

05/03/2011

The UK Border Agency (UKBA) has published the annual update to the codes of practice for sponsored skilled workers.

If an employer wants to sponsor a migrant worker from outside Europe under Tier 2 or Tier 5 of the points-based system of immigration, they must use the codes of practice to:

  1. check the skill level and appropriate pay for that job; and
  2. find out where the job must be advertised in the UK before it can be offered to a migrant worker.

Employers must check the latest version of the codes of practice before issuing a certificate of sponsorship.

The revised codes of practice can be found on the UKBA website.
